Job Summary

The purpose of this role is to perform maintenance, service and repair of all fleet units and warehouse equipment in compliance with OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT) and Company inspection standards.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain all fleet units and warehouse equipment in good working condition and that meet safety standards
• Perform preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment
• Perform annual DOT inspections
• Prepare and maintain records on all vehicles
• Monitor all waste items (waste oil, solvents, tires, batteries, etc.) and insure proper disposal
• Evaluate and use most cost effective sources for parts & supplies in coordination with Director of Fleet
• Ensure monthly expense budgets are met and obtain authorization for major expenditures
• Perform other duties as necessary

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years’ trade school concentration in gas and diesel mechanics
• A valid commercial driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of computers and software applications
• Knowledge of Fleet diagnostics
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Skills in organizing and prioritizing work and tasks
• Skills in problem solving and decision making
• Ability to provide attention to detail
• Ability to multitask

 Work Environment and Equipment

Work generally takes place in a shop setting.  Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.  Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.  Noise level irregularities in the work environment.
